Who is Pixel Sugar? Pixel Sugar is a little design group located in Portland, OR founded by Mandi Hoffman and David Woods. Mandi has been a designer and developer of websites and online applications for over 9 years. She loves cute animals, hiking and hanging from the ceiling. What exactly does Pixel Sugar do? We create beautiful websites for affordable prices. We also make the process extremely easy for you. We can handle your branding, marketing and any other service you may need for your business.

 

How can I best convey to you what I need and expect of my website? Through our years of experience working closely with clients to establish their dream projects, we have created a system which works best to quickly get us on the same page and achieve the results you are looking for. It starts with a questionnaire covering almost everything we need to know and then a phone call or email to work out specifics. After that we work closely with you throughout the project and try our best to cut out the jargon and time wasting run-around you get from most design companies. Pure internet bliss!

 

What is hosting? Think of a host as a place where your website lives. In order for a site to be viewed online it has to have a home. We provide hosting for all of our clients!

 

What is a domain? It is the address of your website. This is also necessary for your site to be viewed online. Think of a domain as your website's street address and your browser, a really good GPS. We also set up your domain for you!

 

How do I set up my new email address? Once we create your new email address (yourname@yoursite.com) we will guide you through how to set up your email in different mail clients.

 

What is a CMS? CMS stands for Content Management System. A CMS allows you to login to your website and make changes to the content. Our Sweet package offers a CMS, or you can add it to any package you would like. Recommended to savvy users only!

 

What does support & love entail? You can call us (503.360.1254) M-F between 8am and 6pm (PST) or email us anytime and we will answer any questions you may have about your website or any other work we have done for you. If you signed up for content management, all changes will be completed within 2 business days of your request. Also, if you need a creative project done outside of our realm, we will find someone for you to do it! In short: Customer service is our thing and we want you to be ecstatic!

 

Will Pixel Sugar maintain my website? Yes! We will always maintain your website to ensure it works properly, and if you signed up for a content management package we can add and edit content for you. If you didn't, you can still have your content managed for an hourly fee.

 

What is "content"? Content is any words or photos that go within the design of your site. For instance, everything you are reading right now is content, but things like the logo and color scheme are part of the design and not considered content.

 

Can I create my own package? Absolutely! Just fill out this questionnaire and we can work together to create exactly what you need.

 

Do you offer any discounts? We offer discounts for ethical companies with a business model that takes animals, people and the planet into serious consideration. Contact us for more info.

 

I'm a designer. If I design my website, can you make it work? You betcha! We specialize in CSSing PSDs! Just contact us to discuss the scope of your project.

 

Can Pixel Sugar create a website for me in 48 hours? Yes we can. Check out our SUGAR RUSH package for more details.

 

Will you be able to make emergency changes? Of course. If you find yourself in need of do or die changes to the content on your site we are able to make them immediately for a charge of $75 on top of your content management fee. This of course only applies to our business hours (8am -6pm PST).
